LeanKit's guide on understanding your backlog and archive lane in LeanKit.
The backlog is a holding area for any work that is not in progress and is being considered for the future. Click on the expand/collapse icon to open and close any lane including the backlog.
The backlog lane is located on the left side of the board. You can subdivide the backlog into as many verticle sublanes and horizontal swimlanes as you like. You can view, edit, or move any cards in or out of the backlog as needed.
Tip: To move all the cards from a specific lane into another lane, click the lane header and select Move To.
The archive is a holding area for all cards that have been completed or discarded and is located on the right side of the board. You can subdivide the archive into as many verticle sublanes and horizontal swimlanes as you like.
Opening the archive will show cards added to the archive in the last 14 days. Cards that are older than 14 days are automatically added to a 'cabinet' card. Double-clicking on a cabinet card will open the search dialog, allowing you to easily find cards that were added to the archive more than 14 days ago.
Click on the expand/collapse icon to open and close any lane including the archive.
